I met Dan and Bonita at the Greenfield farmer's market in 2005, and was immediately blown away by their honey. Dan and Bonita founded Warm Colors Apiary in 2000 to produce regional honey from flowers in western Massachusetts. Located on eighty acres of woodland, open fields and wetlands, the land provides a variety and abundance of nectar & pollen plants that bloom from early spring to late fall. Having a location with flowering plants blooming successively throughout the warm months makes our apiary ideal for honey production and the raising of honeybees.
Warm Colors honey is extracted with a minimum of processing. Our honey is kept below 100F during bottling to match ambient temperatures found in the beehive. We use natural “clarification," not filtering, to clear our honey of unwanted particles and debris. Clarification is simply allowing any particles to slowly rise to the top of the storage tank, leaving the bottom honey clear. By bottling from the bottom we fill containers with a clean, unprocessed honey. We make every effort not to degrade the taste or beneficial qualities of the honey.
Perfect for teas or toast. Harvested in late May. Light amber with a fruit flavor.
One of our best tasting honeys. A blend of flower nectars from late June through mid-August. This honey has won many blue ribbons in Massachusetts honey shows. Medium amber in color.
Golden amber with excellent flavor. Hits you with intense honey sweetness that transforms into warm brown sugar.
Forged from fields of raspberry blossoms, this floral, fruity, delicate honey is a local favorite. Dark with excellent flavor.
